Hello Danger....

Welcome to the world Winnie Danger Allen.

Jokingly I kept saying "as long as I'm not in hospital for Christmas or new years then it doesn't matter when Winnie comes" I shouldn't have been surprised to wake at 11.40pm on Christmas night because my waters broke, almost two weeks early and on my first day of holidays this baby decides it's time to come out. You spend 9 months preparing yourself for this day but when it comes it is a mighty shock, I sat on the floor of our babyless nursery referring to my last minute pack list shaking, what was to come next?! A baby that is what! Since I wasn't in labour at this stage everything was rather dandy, until 5:30am, no one can really prepare you for labour but as I sat there crunching on ice and listening to "calming" music tapping my fingers to the beat in an attempt to drown out the pain I realised things were only going to get worse........ By 1pm we were at the hospital and half way there, only another painful 5cm to go, by 5pm it was time to push, the stories of women sneezing babies out really are a load of crap by the way, I always remember a line from Cybil "giving birth is like pushing a turkey out of your nostril". Just over two and a half hours later out comes Winnie (reluctantly)
